I have been changing my training a bit lately. The weather has been so nice in Sydney I have been training a bit in the backyard at home with my Ironmaster Quick Lock Dumbbells and Ironmaster Kettlebell Handle . I have also recently acquired some state of the art cardio equipment for my home gym - a skipping rope. With just these simple pieces of equipment I have had some absolute killer workouts thanks to my new favourite toy the iphone…… Boxing Timer Review

I hate the typical “cardio” activities. When I talk about cardio I am referring to exercises bikes, treadmills, cross trainers, stair climbers etc. I really don’t see the point of sitting on a machine inside a building simulating an activity that can be performed outdoors. However I have found out the hard way that you sometimes need to incorporate a bit of cardio activity into your weight training.

Using these weight lifting techniques you can easily add variety into your training without having to incorporate new exercises. If you didn’t see it on A Current Affair the other night, there was a segment on 79 year old bodybuilder Ray Moon. What a champion! I think he only started weight training 4 years ago. He now trains 5 days a week and competes in the over 70 year old division. (more…)

I just thought I would share with you my experience of some dumbbell training I did while I was away on holidays. It shows that you can have great workouts without needing a lot of gym equipment. When you are conditioned to training on gym equipment in a commercial gym you tend to lose your imagination and become reliant on machines for a lot of your training. However with a bit of imagination you can design a workout with a minimum of gym equipment that will have you feeling strong and healthy. Ironmaster Dumbbell Training here
