Product Information SPR Home Gym Rubber Floor Tiles [SPRTILES] $90.00 $55.00 Firstly I am not a big fan of rubber mats and don’t think they are necessary in most home gym applications. Sure they will make your gym nice and pretty at the start, but ultimately they are not going to add a whole lot to your weight training experience. In my opinion, you only need rubber floor tiles for protecting flooring. If you are setting up your home gym indoors in a room with tiles or floorboards then these are a must. If you are setting up gym equipment in a garage with a concrete floor you don’t really need them. You are not going to damage the equipment. You might need a couple of tiles if you are going to be deadlifting. If you are going to do competitive Olympic weight lifting or powerlifting you will need a lifting platform. Garages are generally a dusty environment so if you have rubber floor tiles they will get covered in dusty footprints. It is also easier to sweep a concrete floor than it is clean these tiles. If you really don’t want to train on concrete, to save yourself some money see if you can score some cheap carpet. It will work out a lot a cheaper than wall to wall rubber tiles. Why are Sam’s Fitness Rubber Tiles $55/square as opposed to $40/square on other fitness equipment retailers sites? The cheaper rubber floor tiles generally use a different grade of rubber for most of the tile and just finish off the top layer with dense rubber. The mats we sell have the dense rubber all the way through as you can see in the picture below. These mats will need to be shipped on a pallet unless you pick them up from our Sydney Warehouse .
